Hidden Advantages of Having the Same Company Do Your Photography and Video

We've talked about some of the advantages of having a team that is used to working together do your photography and video. For example, when the photographer and videographer are familiar with each others style they're better at staying out of each others way. But there are also some new reasons that you should be aware of.
"Hybrid" cameras are becoming more and more popular. These are cameras that will produce both high quality stills and videos. We're talking about very good quality video, not the highly compressed video that most still cameras or even cellphones will give you these days. Our principal videographer Chris Walker uses one of these cameras. This means that when working with the photographer, he can even share some of the lenses. It also means that if for some reason the photographer can't get a shot, the video guy can use his camera for that photo.

Wedding at Loulu Palm Estate

The Loulu Palm Estate is a really special location for couples who want an outdoor wedding and reception in a beautiful, very Hawaiian place far from the tourist crowds. A gigantic lawn leads out to a gorgeous, empty beach on Oahu's North Shore. They set up a big tent on the lawn so you can have your reception outdoors under the stars. The beach is wonderful for taking formal shots. It's more expensive than most venues but worth it!

A Wedding at Kalama Beach Club, Kailua, 1/26/13

A nice, casual local wedding, where we were mostly just staying in the background capturing what was going on. This was one of the many weddings for which we have done both video and photography.

A Wedding at Hale Koa Hotel

We've done more weddings at the Hale Koa Hotel than anywhere else. Great location, great variety of places to hold the ceremony and shoot formals, and ballrooms of all sizes for receptions large and small. This couple went all out.

As usual we used Canon full frame cameras which allow for a more three dimensional look. Notice how blurred out the background is in the shot of the flowers on the table.

Our New Retouching Service

For most of our photography packages, we now include extensive retouching of 40 or more images. You can choose which ones, or we can choose them for you. This is in addition to the standard adjusting for color balance, exposure, contrast, etc., that we do for every single image on every package!

The Willows 12/10/12

We always like taking wedding photos at the Willows because the charming wedding chapel and the waterfall are great backgrounds. The Willows is an excellent venue for having your wedding, formal photography, and reception all in one compact place.
